HVAC Energy Use and Repair Costs Helping you save Money

Cleaning your HVAC System is important!

Many contaminants and air pollutants circulate within a building’s ventilation system. Some contaminants include; dander, dust, construction debris, pet hair and airborne chemicals. Contaminants get pulled into the HVAC system from inside and outside sources. The same air is then re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the ductwork.

HVAC System Energy Costs

The cost of running a HVAC system can equate to:

Home and Strata 30%
Commercial Buildings 50%

  • Extending HVAC Equipment Life: A clean and well maintained HVAC system has less load placed on it and runs more efficiently helping extend the life of the HVAC equipment.

What’s involved when cleaning an HVAC System?

Cleaning your heating and air conditioning system involves more than simply cleaning the air ducts but also the vents, registers, blowers, coils and other components exposed to air flow within the system.

Air flows from the intake filters into the coil where it heats or cools the air. The fan then pushes the air thru the air ducts into the office space. Each air handler has one of these in its Mechanical rooms.

When they are dirty, there is very little air movement in the building. Heat & cooling is affected. Energy bills go up as fan is trying to pull air through a blocked system. Ideally, these would be cleaned annually.

Properly maintaining your HVAC system is essential. These systems clean and circulate the air throughout your homes or offices. When those buildings are in areas with high traffic or increased construction, it is even more important for regular maintenance.
